Current events and notices
Southern Montgomery County Municipal Utility District experienced severe drought conditions last summer. In efforts to conserve water and reduce its excessive wasteful consumption, the Board of Directors voted to add two new upper level tiers to the water rates. The following rates became effective for single family residential and senior citizen rates starting with the billing cycle beginning November 15, 2009 to January 15, 2010:
| Single Family Residential |
0 to 20,000 Gallons
20,000 to 40,000 Gallons
*40,000 to 60,000 Gallons
*Over 60,000 Gallons |
Flat Rate $30.00 (Minimum)
$1.50 per 1,000 Gallons
$3.00 per 1,000 Gallons
$5.00 per 1,000 Gallons |
| Senior Citizen Individually Metered Residential |
0 to 20,000 Gallons
20,000 to 40,000 Gallons
*40,000 to 60,000 Gallons
*Over 60,000 Gallons
*New Upper Level Tiers |
Flat Rate $12.56 (Minimum)
$1.40 per 1,000 Gallons
$3.00 per 1,000 Gallons
$5.00 per 1,000 Gallons |
The next water bill sent on February 1, 2010 will be based upon these rates.
Please help us conserve by adjusting your sprinklers this spring to watering one
or two days per week. If we receive adequate rainfall, do not water! If a residence uses more than 40,000 gallons during a billing cycle during the
summer period (with average rainfall), that residence is watering too much!
Please contact the office if you have any questions.
